Sorry For The Normal Service, Things Will Soon Be Disrupted
“Sorry for the normal service, things will soon be disrupted.” – Dr Jemma Green
A contributor to Forbes, this is the title of one of Jemma’s articles.
While we, the masses, figuratively doze off (getting time-lost in TV dramas that keep us from real conversation and stimulating thought), letting other people worry and wonder about things like Blockchain and Bitcoin, there are genii (yes I mean ‘geniuses’ but I like genii so much better) out there who are quietly and with totality…
Disrupting the world we live in.
We’re in the era of the birth of a multitude of new tech-based solutions to problems we don’t even ponder most of the time. Before we know it: BAM! There’s a new way of doing the same old stuff we always did.
Take paying for electricity for example.
You go from paying your power bill from your bank account to your local service provider, to paying your next-door neighbour, thanking her for the excess solar energy she sent you in exchange. It’s a way of facilitating energy trading between solar panel users.
Peer-to-peer energy trading removes the centralised authority from having control of power distribution and costs, giving the ‘power to the people’.
Power Ledger is the world leading peer-to-peer marketplace for renewable energy.
Dr Jemma Green is a co-founder of Power Ledger and contributor to Forbes, as well as mother to two ;-).
